How to Apply a Vinyl Decal

My top selling items on Etsy are - hands down - monogram decals. It’s not really intuitive to figure out how to apply them, and once it’s on… it stays on. No pressure, right? The good news is that it isn’t hard - you just have to follow these instructions for correctly applying vinyl decals:

1. Clean the surface you’re applying the decal to thoroughly - Please note that these decals only stick to hard, nonporous surfaces.

2. Peel the white backing from the decal - make sure the letters stay attached to the sticky clear side.

3. Apply decal to surface - Make sure it’s exactly where you want it before you commit!

4. Firmly press and smooth out the decal - I recommend this tool, but if you don’t have one using a credit card or drivers license will also do the trick.

5. Slowly and carefully peel back the clear sticky part, leaving the letters on the surface

6. Smooth out the decal again to make sure it’s in place - you may need to smooth out some air bubbles as well.

Follow these simple instructions and you are sure to get a smooth, perfect vinyl application every time :)
